Kitara

Kitara is the jewel of the Klaserie camps. Located on the banks of the Klaserie River, it accommodates 12 guests in Victorian-style five-star chalets. Each of the six luxury chalets is fully-fitted with air-conditioning, complete bathrooms, outdoor showers and private patios, as well as fully stocked minibars and tea/coffee stations. Kitara is set amongst rolling lawns and well-tended gardens, an oasis amidst the wild and exciting Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. It is a peaceful paradise, an escape from reality. The infinity pool and lounge deck are set into the bank of the Klaserie River, with breathtaking views in all directions, creating the tranquility of being one with the landscape.

Breakfasts are hosted in the spacious polished stone dining room, or on the sunny decks overlooking the river. The unique boma is the ideal place for dining on a balmy summer night, or on a chilly winter evening, with a roaring fire and candlelight to create the perfectly magical atmosphere.

Four of the six double chalets are situated snugly upon the riverbank, each with a magnificent view of the river from the room, en-suite bathroom windows and private balcony. Two double chalets are set in the gardens, overlooking the riverbed and pool with full en-suite bathrooms and private outside atrium showers. The bathrooms are luxuriously fitted, each with bath, shower, and toilet.

The inviting bar/lounge and library/lounge serves as a meeting place for morning coffees and high teas before game-drives, or for pre and after-dinner drinks. The bar/lounge leads into the beautifully decorated library/lounge for peaceful moments overlooking the deck and river.

An elegant little curio shop is situated at the lodge, for special memorabilia, African artefacts, amenities and clothing.
